Mercedes-AMG has introduced its newest addition to the high-performance lineup, the CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe. This high-performance two-door coupe debuts shortly after the release of the all-new CLE, effectively serving as a successor to models like the AMG E-class coupe. Mercedes has opted to discontinue this body style for the latest generation of both the C and E series.

In terms of aesthetics, the AMG enhances the sporting appeal of the CLE Coupe through a more assertive aero package. The distinctive AMG Panamericana grille commands attention at the forefront, complemented by a notably more dynamic front bumper. Along the vehicle’s flanks, the AMG CLE showcases 19-inch AMG wheels as the standard configuration, with the option to upgrade to 20 inches. New vents positioned just behind the front wheel arches contribute to the overall visual impact. Furthermore, the inclusion of sportier side sills, a more formidable rear bumper, quad exhaust tips, and a boot lip spoiler complete the enhanced exterior design.

For those seeking additional personalization, the company provides optional packages such as the AMG Optics package, AMG Night packages, and AMG Carbon packages, allowing customers to tailor the vehicle to their preferences.

Upon entering the AMG CLE, one encounters an array of premium features synonymous with the standard CLE model, including a 12.3-inch digital driver display and an 11.9-inch central touchscreen. Notably, these components now showcase AMG-specific graphics, elevating the overall aesthetic. The interior enhancements extend to sportier seats, an AMG steering wheel, and distinctive AMG trims and upholstery options.

The seats exhibit a sophisticated combination of Artico man-made leather and Microcut black microfiber, adorned with eye-catching red contrasting stitching, adding a touch of elegance to the interior.

Functionality is further augmented by the AMG dynamic select function, providing five distinct driving programs: “Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, and Individual.” This versatility allows the driver to tailor the vehicle’s performance to varying driving conditions and personal preferences. Additionally, the inclusion of a manual mode, accessible through the “M” button, empowers the driver to take control of gear shifts using the conveniently located shift paddles.

Beneath the surface, Mercedes has integrated an enhanced iteration of their 3.0-liter M 256 inline six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, now denoted as M 256M. This powerhouse generates 442 bhp and a peak torque of 560 Nm, with an overboost capability reaching 600 Nm for 12 seconds. Collaborating seamlessly with this engine is a 9-speed torque-converter automatic transmission and a 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system.

The engine’s improvements encompass a refined combustion chamber, updated piston rings, optimized injection mechanisms, and the incorporation of a new exhaust gas turbocharger. Notably, the unit benefits from a 48-volt mild-hybrid system featuring a second-generation integrated starter generator, contributing an additional 17 kW (22.6 bhp) of power and 205 Nm of torque during robust acceleration.

The AMG CLE boasts an electronically capped top speed of 250 km/h, extendable to 270 km/h with the optional AMG Driver’s Package. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 4.2 seconds, this vehicle exemplifies exceptional performance and cutting-edge technology.

The braking system has undergone enhancements, featuring internally ventilated 370 mm discs with four-piston fixed calipers at the front and 360 mm discs accompanied by single-piston floating calipers at the rear. Standard on the CLE are steel springs paired with adaptive dampers, providing drivers with the flexibility to choose from three ride settings: Comfort, Sport, and Sport+.

Additionally, the automaker presents an optional AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package, which includes sportier equipment and introduces a RACE driving program with Drift Mode.

In the competitive global market, the AMG CLE 53 is positioned to rival counterparts such as the Audi S5 and the BMW M440i coupe.
