  • Skoda Auto has announced an extensive overhaul for its Enyaq electric vehicle family for the 2024 model year. Among the major updates is the introduction of a new Laurin & Klement trim line along with updates to the running gear to improve range, shorten charging times and increase power output.

The 2024 Enyaq lineup undergoes substantial improvements in power and efficiency, marking the discontinuation of the Enyaq 80 in favor of the new Enyaq 85 variants. Notably, the introduction of a revamped rear axle motor, combined with an upgraded voltage converter, significantly enhances the performance of the latest Enyaq 85 and 85x models. Both models now boast 281 bhp (210 kW) of power, signifying a noteworthy increase of 80 bhp (60 kW) compared to the preceding Enyaq 80 and an additional 15 kW compared to the former Enyaq 80x variants. The RS models exhibit an impressive 335 bhp (250 kW), indicating a substantial gain of 40 bhp (30 kW) in comparison to their predecessors. Furthermore, the maximum torque has been elevated to 545 Nm, reflecting an overall enhancement in the Enyaq lineup’s power and performance.

The enhanced Enyaq 85 demonstrates impressive acceleration, achieving 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, a notable improvement of nearly two seconds compared to its predecessor. The all-wheel-drive Enyaq 85x further elevates performance, accomplishing the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 6.6 seconds. Meanwhile, the Enyaq RS establishes a new benchmark with a sprint time of 5.5 seconds, a full second less than its previous iteration. Both the Enyaq 85 and 85x, mirroring the RS versions, boast a top speed of 180 km/h.

Furthermore, the Enyaq lineup benefits from an upgraded battery featuring advanced thermal management, resulting in extended driving ranges. The Enyaq 85 SUV now offers an increased range of 565 kilometres, up from the previous 548 km, while the Coupe version extends to 576 km from the previous 559 km. The RS variants also witness improvements in range, with the SUV version providing up to 541 km, compared to the previous 517 km, and the Coupe version extending to 547 km, up from 523 km. These advancements underscore the commitment to both performance and efficiency in the Enyaq series.

The Enyaq 85x and Enyaq RS experience a substantial enhancement in charging performance, boasting an increased DC charging rate of up to 175 kW at fast-charging stations. Notably, the time required to charge the 82 kWh battery from 10 to 80 percent has been significantly reduced to just 28 minutes, marking an improvement of eight minutes compared to the previous duration. Introducing further efficiency, the Enyaq family now incorporates battery preconditioning, optimizing charging speed by up to 22 percent, particularly in low ambient temperatures.

In addition to these charging advancements, the electric vehicles (EVs) undergo a significant software upgrade, introducing a more intuitive interface. This enhancement allows drivers to personalize shortcuts for frequently used vehicle settings and applications. Furthermore, the navigation system features new map graphics and an expanded map area, contributing to an improved user experience.

Safety features are bolstered with the inclusion of Intelligent Speed Assist, a system that adjusts the vehicle’s speed based on traffic sign recognition and navigation data. This comprehensive software upgrade enhances both the functionality and user-friendliness of the Enyaq 85x and Enyaq RS, providing an elevated driving experience for users.

In addition to the aforementioned updates, Skoda has introduced the L&K trim line for both Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé models. These models are offered with the 85 and 85x powertrain versions. The L&K variants showcase notable exterior enhancements, featuring Platinum Grey detailing and come equipped with standard 20-inch Asterion alloy wheels, while a larger option of 21-inch Aquarius units is also available.

Distinct from the standard Enyaq, the L&K trim offers additional features, including heated and ventilated leather seats with a massage function. Furthermore, it boasts a head-up display with Augmented Reality and is equipped with the premium Canton sound system, featuring twelve speakers. This marks a significant upgrade in both style and functionality for the Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé models under the L&K trim line.
